Start by placing some chocolate eggs around your classroom or schoolyard, and write out some clues for your students to follow, then send your pupils out to look for them. You can also add a fun twist by writing maths problems riddles and vocabulary challenges on the eggs, and have students answer them before they can eat it. An Easter egg hunt is a great way of combining educational lessons with a tangible reward that your pupils have to work for.
Egg decorating
Egg decorating is another popular Easter activity that allows children to get creative and enjoy themselves, it’s also a really easy activity to facilitate! All you need is to provide your students with a hard-boiled egg each, some marker pens, stickers, and some other craft materials, and let them decorate their eggs however they want. You can even turn it into a competition and have the class vote on the best-decorated egg for a prize.
Craft activities like this are a great way to encourage creativity and help your pupils develop their fine motor skills. You could also have your students create other Easter-themed crafts like paper plate Easter bunnies, Easter egg wreaths, or Easter chick puppets. The choice is yours!
Easter-themed worksheets
Easter-themed worksheets are a really effective way of reviewing concepts that you’ve covered in class. For example, you could create a word search with Easter-related vocabulary words, a maths worksheet with Easter-themed word problems, or a reading comprehension worksheet with a story about the Easter Bunny.
What’s more you could also encourage your students to get their creative juices flowing with Easter-themed writing prompts. For instance, you could have them write their own Easter themed story, or write a persuasive piece about why the Easter Bunny is the best holiday mascot if they’re towards the upper age-range of primary school pupils.
