We have pledged our support to Feniscowles and Pleasington Junior Football Club by sponsoring the U9 team’s kit.
The two-year deal got off to a great start after the boys won their first game sporting the new gear – seeing off local rivals Mill Hill with a 3-2 score line.
EPSL Educational Printing's Production Operations Manager, Russell Dawson, heard that the club was looking for kit sponsorship and approached his managing director for help.
He said: “Alfie adores football and loves being part of the U9 team at Feniscowles and Pleasington Junior Football Club so I really wanted to help them secure kit sponsorship.
“David Pickering, who is the managing director at EPSL Educational Printing, wholeheartedly believes in supporting the local community, especially when it comes to helping organisations that work with children, so he was quick to agree to the two year deal.
“The £600 contract will see our logo proudly displayed on the kit and waterproof training jackets which will be worn by the team and their coaches as they fight it out to be top of the league.
“When the kit was delivered the kids were really excited to wear it and seeing them all look so smart was a very proud moment for me – the fact that they went on to win a hard fought game against Mill Hill made the occasion even more special!”
Club Treasurer, Jonathan Holdsworth, added: “Running a football club is extremely rewarding, but we have to rely on local businesses for financial support to keep the boys and girls kitted out.
“We are always very grateful to receive sponsorship and were delighted when Russell and David offered to help our club.
“The kit looks amazing and gave the entire team a real boost – resulting in a great win!
“This year we have 19 teams playing for Feniscowles and Pleasington JFC in a variety of football leagues with boy’s teams ageing from U7 through to U18, we also have thriving girls section, which consists of three teams ages U12. U14 & U15 – so that is a lot of children and managers that we have to supply football kits and training gear for all throughout the whole football club.
“I would like to thank Russell and David for their support – hopefully the boys will keep up this winning streak when wearing it!”
EPSL Educational Printing has been supplying exercise books and other printed educational resources to schools across the UK and beyond for more than 40 years.
The company was founded in Blackburn in 1975 by former teacher Fred Pickering and his son, David, is now at the helm.
