This set of six dual-language booklets - English/French are short stories which follow the fortunes of Aimee an 11-year-old girl from Martinique. A devastating hurricane forces her to leave her island home and she must suddenly adjust to a new and different way of life - in mainland France. Aimee's adventures take her to Paris, then to the far west of the country to the wild shores of Brittany, and some intriguing aspects of French history are brought into focus.

Aimee de Beausejour provides excellent supplementary reading material for students aged 10 to 14 and beyond, who are keen to practise their foreign language skills. The stories are written in parallel text. A page in English is mirrored by a page in French.
