Donkeys' Wings & Worms' Stings
Author: Adam Bushnell
Donkeys' Wings and Worms' Stings is a collection of traditional tales and entirely original stories, each told with serious silliness. They are culturally diverse and are written to be read aloud by teachers, parents and children, or can be read individually.
The stories are targeted at disengaged or reluctant readers and attempt to motivate children to read. The non-patronising and humorous approach is aimed at ages 6 to 106, as the humour appeals to all ages. This means that these stories are accessible to children whose reading age is significantly below their chronological age. The presentation of this book also makes it suitable for Dyslexic readers.
The book is printed on cream paper with the Comic Sans font, as recommended by the British Dyslexia Association.
The stories have been tried and tested with a great many children, including children with special educational needs and bilingual children.
Suitable for reading age 8 and interest age 8 - 12
